IF YOU LOVE ME - Jesus, the Son of God and only way to God

One of the reasons John wrote this letter was to counter the heresy of his day and to boldly declare that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the only way to God. Jesus sends us into the world to do the same, but the task is daunting because our world is filled with so much confusion. Yet not just confusion, but cultural, theological, and moral opposition to the Gospel. The same was true in John’s day when he said, “Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come” (1 John 2:18). With so many misleading and confusing voices in our culture, we must repeat and affirm the Gospel, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the only way to God.
