ADORE - Joy to the World

The best Christmas songs are not about snow or presents or Santa Claus. The best songs are about the true Christmas, the first Christmas. That’s why this year’s theme is ADORE, the music and the message of Christmas. “Joy to the world, the Lord is come.” “O come, let us adore Him.” “Silent night, holy night.” Everyone needs more joy, and Christmas can help. But not the Christmas reduced to a sale on Amazon or a family reunion. The world needs a bigger Christmas than that, a greater joy than that. And that’s why we sing, “Joy to the world, the Lord is come!” Christmas is the celebration of our salvation. Jesus is our joy, because Jesus is our salvation. Every person in the cast of Christmas experienced joy, including a priest named Zachariah. Luke 1:68-79 records his prayer of praise as he realized all the promises and prophecies of God pointed to the manger, pointed to Jesus.
