TITUS - Committed to Doctrinal Purity

Why is doctrine important? Because doctrinal purity – knowing God’s word and basing your life on God’s truth – leads to moral purity, to godly character, and to living in a way that honors God. Paul told Titus to identify men of godly character and sound doctrine as elders, and that mandate is a model for us. In his letter, Paul warned Titus about three problems he would face on Crete – false teaching, corrupt values, and fake Christians. Paul was preparing Titus for the battle he would face, a similar battle we face today.
