COMFORT & JOY ... only through Jesus Christ

Everyone looks forward to Christmas with a sense of nostalgia, but I believe we long for something more than nostalgia. I believe we long for something deeper, something that doesn’t come wrapped in a box with a bow on top. Two things we long for most are comfort and joy. We long for comfort and peace, for some relief from our problems. And we long for joy. We want to be happy, because maybe last year was not so happy. So what is that “great joy” that the angel announced to the shepherds? “There has been born you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Jesus stepped down from heaven to earth, from majesty to a manger, even to a cross, and sacrificed His life for us. Jesus saved us! That’s why true comfort and joy come only through faith in Jesus Christ.
