JESUS - His Friendship

Nov 5, 2023

Jesus and His disciples gathered in the upper room of a house to share the Passover meal. It’s called the last supper, because it was the final meal they shared before He was crucified. Sitting around the table, He talked about was most important. Among many other things Jesus said that night, were these simple phrases. “Abide in Me … Abide in My love … You are My friends” (John 15:4, 9, 14). Jesus was inviting them, and He is inviting us, to experience a personal, intimate, day-by-day, moment-by-moment relationship with Him. It may sound a bit disrespectful to talk about Jesus as a friend and as a buddy, yet it is theologically accurate and actually possible to experience a personal relationship with Jesus. Because He said, “Abide in Me … Abide in My love … You are My friends.”
