JESUS - His Parables

The Luke 15 parable is about lostness, about losing something valuable and searching for it. This parable is about God’s love for us, a love which launched a divine search and rescue we call the Gospel. The Bible says, “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). The Father’s love is so great that He sent His Son “to seek and to save” those who are spiritually “lost.” Therefore, Luke 15 is a parable about God’s heart for us. It’s also about the heart of God in us. It’s about loving people the same way Jesus has loved us and helping those who are far from God find their way home.
