The Fruit of the Spirit ... FAITHFULNESS

Aug 22, 2021

All of us face countless choices and circumstances in life that test our character. So, what is character? Character is the sum of choices you make day after day that determines who you really are. Another word for character is faithfulness. That’s the word included in the Galatians 5 list of the fruit of the Spirit.

What makes you you goes beyond your name, where you grew up, or what kind of job you have. What makes you you is your character. As Christians, our character should be an outflow of our identity in Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “Whoever says he abides in him,” whoever says he believes in Jesus, “ought to walk in the same way in which he walked” (1 John 2:6, ESV). As Christians, our identity is rooted in Jesus Christ. Our identity is settled, but character is the sum of choices you make day after day that determines who you really are.
