The Fruit of the Spirit ... LOVE

The fruit of the Spirit is proof that Christ lives in us. Love is the proof that Christ lives in us. This message is about love, but not the romantic kind. It’s not about giving flowers to your wife or being nice to your neighbor or loving people we already like. Love is often demanding. It’s often requires doing the hard thing. Jesus’ kind of love is deeper and more demanding. Not all Christians are willing to go there. We tend to put limits on our love, our forgiveness, our sacrifice. Yet, love is to be the defining characteristic of our lives. Of all Christian virtues, the Bible says, “the greatest of these is love.” That’s why love is first in the Galatians 5 list of the fruit of the Spirit.
