Obeying His Word

The marvelous truth is that the majestic Creator of the universe invites us to walk with Him! And Psalm 1 teaches us that walking with God means listening to His voice and obeying His word. James, the brother of Jesus, would agree. James confronts every Christian with the most direct and most personal challenge in the Bible. “Be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves” (James 1:22). James talked about it and so did David in Psalm 1. Both James and David talked about obedience, about the authenticity of our faith, about being doers of the word and not merely hearers who deceive themselves. Both James and David talked about living a life that reflects the faith we profess.
