Trusting His Sovereignty

Oct 9, 2022

As people of faith, we believe in the sovereignty of God. Yet, when tragedy strikes, there is a collision between our faith and our feelings. When life knocks the breath out of us, our faith says, “Yes, God is sovereign. Yes, God is in control. Yes, God is good.” But our feelings cry out, “Lord, where are You, and why won’t You do something?” Tragedy puts theology to the test. It always does. So, the question is – Is our theology strong enough to handle tragedy? Is our view of God big enough to get us through? According to Psalm 29, walking with God means trusting His sovereignty. The sovereignty of God is a mystery; we cannot fully understand the ways of God. Yet, knowing that He is in control should be extremely comforting and reassuring. Because sovereignty means that God in control of everything that happens in the universe, and in control of everything that happens in my life and in yours.
