THEOLOGY - GOD - HIS HOLINESS - Encountering His Blazing Perfection
“As a culture,” Paul David Tripp writes, “we have philosophically walked away from holy.” Yet, God is still holy. That’s why in our series on theology, we must look deeply at the holiness of God. Not just to understand it theologically, but to be shaped by it. Isaiah observed the spiritual decay of his day, and the Lord raised him up to call people to repentance. To prepare him to do that, Isaiah was allowed a glimpse of the holiness of God, the blazing perfection of God, and it overwhelmed him. In this message from Isaiah 6, I urge you to lean in and listen to Isaiah describe God and allow the Holy Spirit to penetrate your mind and heart with the holiness of God. This chapter highlights three ways the holiness of God impacted Isaiah and how His holiness should impact us. Holiness amazes. Holiness exposes. And holiness inspires.
