Just Like Jesus
Jan 23, 2022
Ephesians 4 is a declaration of our new life in Christ and Ephesians 5 is a call to Christlikeness. If we believe in Him, then we are to walk like Him. Ephesians 5:1-2 is a bold, audacious command. “Therefore, be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you." That is a bold, audacious command, yet God expects us to say yes to the call to Christlikeness, to say no to anything that is contrary to the character of Jesus, and to never forget who we were and who we are. The challenge before us is to pray the prayer of David. In Psalm 139, David prayed, “Search me, O God, and know my heart. Test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends You” (Psalm 139:23-24).
