The Spirit-Filled Life

In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul included two significant verses about the Spirit-filled life. Ephesians 5:18 insists that we “be filled with the Spirit.” And Ephesians 4:30 warns us “do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God.” Both verses suggest His presence. The amazing, mysterious reality is that God is both with us and in us. Elsewhere, Paul said, “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16). As recipients of God’s amazing grace, there is something we should dread more than anything else. The thought of doing anything that would break His heart and forfeit His blessings.
