Words to Live By - Jesus

These words do not define His life, but they should certainly define my life and yours. The cross was just hours away, and Jesus wanted those hours to count. Around the table at the last supper, He talked about what was most important. John chapters 13-16 is called the “farewell discourse,” because these were Jesus’ last words to His disciples before He was crucified. So, it was a somber night, a tender night. Among many other things Jesus said that night, He said, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” (John 14:15). Let that ring in your ears for a moment. “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” What does that mean? It means obedience proves that we love Him.
