Ephesians 2 describes humanity’s lowest low and celebrates the believer’s highest high. It is the story of bad news and good news. The theme is grace.

The first step in becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ is understanding grace. The first step is the Gospel. The first step is salvation. It’s understanding our sin and how our sin offends a holy God and separates us from the one who created us and loves us. It’s understanding our need for God’s help. It’s understanding the gift of God’s grace and His willingness to forgive us of everything we have ever done wrong. To grow as a disciple, to grow in grace, we must understand it, we must feel it, we must be humbled by it, and we must live every day with gratitude for His amazing grace.

The Gospel is good news is because grace can completely change the outcome of a person’s life story and determine a person’s eternal destiny.
