The Potter's Wheel

The potter carefully shapes the clay. His touch is gentle, yet his knife is sharp. Just as the potter shapes the clay, so the Lord shapes us. “O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We are the work of your hand” (Isaiah 64:8). We are certainly the work of His hand. He created us and He continues to shape us. The Bible says that God “has predestined us to become conformed to the image of His Son.” Like a potter, God is constantly shaping us to be more like Jesus so we can live for Jesus. That’s what it means to be a disciple.
