Standing with Him, Suffering with Him

In his challenge to stand firm, Peter inserts a significant paragraph about Jesus. The inspiration for standing firm is Jesus. This passage of Scripture, 1 Peter 1:19-25, is about Him! As Peter would say in his second letter, “I know you already know this, but I consider it the right thing to do. As long as I am alive, I will not stop reminding you of what Jesus has done for us” (2 Peter 1:12-13). It may be true that we are in the minority. It may be true that we see distressing changes all around us. Yet, no matter what the culture says about us or does to us, we are to stand firm. If we suffer for His name, may we remember what Jesus did for us. As we endure for His name, may we remember what He endured for us. May we remember what He accomplished for us. As you suffer for the name of Jesus Christ, may you remember what He did for you.
