Our Identity in Christ

In his second letter to Christians scattered throughout the Roman world, Peter wrote, “I know you already know this, but I consider it the right thing to do. As long as I am alive, I will not stop reminding you of what Jesus has done for you” (2 Peter 1:12-13). Peter reminded them of what was most true about them. That Jesus died for them and gave them new life. That they were children of God. That means God has poured His divine power and nature into each of us, into you! Remember who you are and whose you are. You belong to God and nothing can threaten that or change that. Peter said, “Confirm God’s calling and choosing of you, for if you know this and practice these qualities, you will never stumble” (2 Peter 1:10).
