In this series on discipleship, as we look at the top 15 characteristics of a disciple of Jesus Christ, we must talk about money. The Bible says more about money than heaven and hell combined. The Bible is filled with wisdom and warnings about money. Instead of a lesson on budgeting or why you should give to the church, I want to teach you “the money prayer.” The money prayer is not, “Oh God, help! I need more money!” The disciple’s money prayer is different.
The moment you hand your life over to Jesus, you hand everything over to Jesus. That includes your money. But why does money matter to God? Because your attitude toward money and how you spend your money proves whether or not He has your heart.
