We don’t like to talk about it. We dread it and we try to ignore it. But it’s inevitable for us and for those we love. Everyone is going to die. But we don’t like talking about it, because death is scary … it often includes suffering … it’s the end. All of us can identify with those feelings. But knowing Jesus redefines how we view death. For the Christian, death is relief … rest … peace … joy … a door to eternity … the fulfillment of hope … the moment our faith has been waiting for. Jesus called heaven “Paradise,” a place beyond our wildest imaginations. Because it is inevitable for all of us, this message is about the theology of death, and answers the question, What happens when we die?
